04-8117 Kyoto, Nakagyo Ward, Hor...
Established in 1675, our brewery is one of the oldest in the Fushimi area of Kyoto. Though it was once afflicted during the Battle of Toba-Fushimi (1868), we continued to brew to this day. The name “Tsuki no Katsura” was inspired by the poem by imperial envoy Anekoji Arinaga praising our sake. “Kage kiyoki tsuki no Katsura no kawamizu wo yonayona kumite yoyoni sakaemu (Casting a clear shadow / the moon over Katsura / the river water / I’m drawing night after night / generations to flourish)”
